Chinngis Khaan Birthday November 4, 2013

Chinngis Khaan just turned 851 on November 4, 2013  However, Mongolia celebrates their National Hero's birthday on a different day each year.  The date is kind of up in the air because back when Chinngis Khaan was born they were using a lunar calendar, so the date tends to vary.

We did not go to our office or try to contact anyone on this day because it was a National Holiday and everyone took the day off.

We went to Chinngis Khaan Square and watched the very well choreographed pageantry of the flag raising and bringing in of the White Horse Hair Banners.  The day was clear and cool and very lovely.  The Mongolians are proud of their heritage as well they should be.
