For Family Home Evening this week, we joined a local Young Single Adults group
in planting flowers at the Bayanzurkh Clinic Kindergarten.
DIC had earlier in the year provided kitchen equipment to this facility to help them in the care of the children they provide services for.
The young adults were enthusiast and great workers.
We were interested to see how this Young Lady would fare in working in the dirt with her pretty white dress.
As you look through the pictures, notice that she was not afraid to get down and work.
Watch what happens. Does she keep her dress clean?
Her hands and gloves got plenty dirty, but otherwise she kept amazingly clean .
I was impressed.
She was willing to work, not afraid to do her share but still kept her dress clean and white.
I think there is a lesson here somewhere.
We have to be in this world.
We are expected to work, plant seeds of faith and hope
and to learn and grow as we do this work.
We are also expected to keep ourselves clean and pure as we do this work.
If we do become dirty, we can use the Atonement of Christ to become clean again.
This young women, removed her dirty gloves and with a little water,
(Christ is the Living Water) she was clean again.
Also as we are laboring, planting and nourishing,
we need to remember to nourish ourselves to
maintain our strength so we can continue to serve.
1 Nephi 18:24 And it came to pass that we did begin to till the earth, and we began to plant seeds; yea, we did put all our seeds into the earth, which we had brought from the land of Jerusalem. And it came to pass that they did grow exceedingly; wherefore, we were blessed in abundance.
